How to get there

Access by Air

Perhaps the most immediately important international access to Killarney is via Kerry Airport - located only 15 minutes’ drive from Killarney and the Gleneagle Hotel. Kerry Airport provides Killarney with direct daily access to the UK and Germany, with developing routes from Spain, Portugal and other EU and UK destinations. It provides two daily commuter connections to Dublin International Airport and onwards to the wider world. Shannon Airport is 90 minutes’ drive from Killarney and in addition to UK and EU connections it offers direct flights from the USA with pre-clearance facilities for US bound travellers. Dublin Airport provides significant international access to Killarney via Kerry Airport but also through its connections with Cork and Shannon Airports and of course also by linking to Killarney by road (3½ hours), and by rail from Dublin City (Heuston Station) direct to Killarney in 3 hours. Access by Bus and Rail

www.irishrail.ie the national rail company, provides daily train services to and from Dublin, Cork, Limerick and Galway. The National Bus Service, www.buseireann.ie provides daily bus services to and from Dublin, Cork, Limerick and Galway and within Kerry to and from all of the main centres of population in Ireland. An improved road and rail network and infrastructure to Killarney reduces transfer times significantly.

The distinctive green buses of Dublin Coach are a familiar sight in Killarney since becoming the newest stop on the hugely popular bus service to and from Dublin. There are a total of 8 departure times and 8 arrival times daily with services providing a direct link for passengers into Kerry from Dublin Airport and Dublin City Centre at an affordable price with customers travelling in comfort and style www.dublincoach.ie

Access by Road

Killarney is serviced by an excellent network of roads. With regular daily flights from the UK, mainland Europe and the USA in to Ireland's South West region (Cork, Shannon and Kerry Airports) you are able to keep your transfer times to a minimum. In fact, it is possible to take a scenic drive from Cork International Airport to Killarney in the same amount of time it would take to cross Dublin City Centre by taxi at peak times.
