Lauren Foley

Lauren Foley (she/her) is a queer disabled multidisciplinary experimental artist. Her debut short story collection, Polluted Sex (Influx Press, 2022), was shortlisted for the Barbellion Prize, a prize dedicated to supporting ill and disabled voices in writing. Her work has appeared in Influx Press, AGNI, MidnightSun Publishing, The Irish Times, No Alibis Press, Head of Zeus, gorse, The Los Angeles Review, 3:AM, Splonk, The Cormorant, Lighthouse, and elsewhere. Lauren won both the Neilma Sidney Short Story Competition and the Los Angeles Review Creative Non-Fiction Award. She has been shortlisted for the Irish Book Awards, Hennessy Prize, Story Wine Prize, Rachel Funari Prize, Fish Prize, Francis Ledwidge Award and the Margaret River Short Story Competition. A recipient of the Next Generation grant from the Arts Council of Ireland, her fiction has been anthologized in The Art of the Glimpse: 100 Irish Short Stories edited by Sinéad Gleeson. Foley is an editorial assistant at Overland, and a guest editor of The Masters Review. Lauren has further been awarded Varuna, Cill Rialaig and Tyrone Guthrie fellowships and residencies, and funding from The Arts Council of Ireland, Fingal County Council and Culture Ireland. An Irish/Australian, she lives in North County Dublin. 

Nancy Fruend

An American-Brit in Switzerland, Nancy Freund has work in Fictive Dream, Citron Review, Takahe, Bending Genres, Hobart, Largehearted Boy, Splonk, Ekphrastic Review, The Disappointed Housewife, SoFloPoJo, London Independent Story Prize, and others. She's been nominated for Best Small Fiction (2022) and Best Microfiction (2023). She has published award-finalist novels, Rapeseed (2013) and Mailbox (2015), and an international cookbook, Global Home Cooking (2014). She’s currently working on an #ownvoices linked-short-stories novel featuring chronic illness/type one diabetes. She holds Creative Writing degrees from UCLA (BA) and Cambridge (MSt).
